Birds own the sky.

Birds are one of the few groups of wild animals which inhabit our urban environments out in the open. Largely they have no need to hide from humans. Their power of flight allows theme to mingle close to us in open view. They soar and call in all their flash and audaciousness. To watch them gather, preen, play and argue is a joy open to most of us. To capture some of that feeling in an image can be difficult but I love trying. The play of light on their wings, their colours, their habits offer endless opportunities to make images that speak to me.
