peter has been making photos for just on 50 years. They are passionate about inclusion, fairness and seek to create art that evokes feeling.
Their photographs are not pretty pictures of pretty people and pretty places although all of these may be present. They are explorations of how imagery, shape, colour and light can drag an emotional response out of us. Our world seems hell bent on making us dull and inert to the wonders that surround us every day. peter’s images attempt to draw us back to the miracle that is us and our fragile world.
peter’s alter ego, nancyboi is an embracing of being bullied and belittled about their sexuality as a child. They identify as non-binary and is in a loving marriage with his wonderful and caring life partner. While this might seem irrelevant to art, it informs it in every way.
